    Toadies – 4/4/16

      90s alt rockers Toadies are our in-studio guests this week, playing songs from their first acoustic record “Heretics.” With a history going back 25 years, Toadies started doing acoustic sets at their own Texas festival (Dia De Los Toadies) and club shows, resulting in interesting re-workings of their past catalog and some brand new songs.

          It’s two in-studio guests this week as Grant Lee Phillips and Steve Poltz join us for songs from their respective new discs. Grant’s “The Narrows” is the lifelong Californian’s first since his move to Tennessee a couple years ago. Steve’s album “The Folksinger” is his new indie disc, filled with fun and poignant new songs.

            The eight piece band San Fermin fills our studio with sound this week. The brainchild of Ellis Ludwig-Leone, San Fermin came together while Ellis was studying composition at Yale, and now has their second album called “Jackrabbit”, featuring the dual vocals of Allen Tate and Charlene Kaye!
